Hello! I am the co-founder and managing editor at Vegansaurus.
I am also an editor at The Morning News, where I began as an intern in October 2006. I have an archive of written work, but more often I do fact-checking, proof-reading, and initial editing for articles like this, this, and this. I was a judge in the 2010 Tournament of Books, and I used to write the weekly newsletter and headlines quiz, when the newsletter was weekly and included a headlines quiz. In 2011 I began editing the microfeatures, in which a variety of writers consider subjects concrete and abstract. It’s interesting, and I love it.
For my third and full-time job, I’m the copy chief at the Village Voice. Check me out in the masthead. Previously I worked as the editorial operations manager for SF Weekly.
If you’re interested in my Vegansaurus work, I recommend reading my Vegansaurus archives, or visiting our Twitter and Facebook pages. If you need an editor, copy editor, proofreader, and/or fact-checker, please contact me. I have a decade of experience and very reasonable rates.
I received a B.A. in comparative literature and French, with honors, from UC Davis in 2004. My most interesting jobs have been as an ESL teacher in Germany and Georgia. My French is passable, my German is colloquial, and my Georgian is atrocious, though I do know the alphabet. I read a lot and would probably like to be your friend on Goodreads.
Resume and references available upon request, of course.
